Salmon is by far one of my most favorite things to eat. I could seriously eat is 5x a week! It has so many great health benefits. It is good source of protein and healthy fat and it is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which is beneficial to our skin, hair, heart and bones.
I used to make it complicated by feeling like I had to marinate my salmon before cooking it, or make a fancy recipe. That is until I realized the best and easiest way to make salmon is simply with salt and pepper, and saute it in a pan in olive oil. It gets crispy and is absolutely delicious. Keep things simple and cook your salmon this way!
Ingredients:
4-6 pieces wild salmon (6 oz portions)
kosher salt and pepper
4-5 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
Heat a large pan over medium heat. Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel and season it generously with salt and pepper. Add the olive oil to the pan and once it gets hot, add the salmon to the pan, skin side up. Cook for 4 minutes, then flip over (it should be brown and crispy) and cook for another 3-5 minutes (3 min for salmon more raw and 5 for more well done). Serve with your favorite salad or sides. Enjoy!
