I saw my friend, Kathy, the other day. I had’t seen her all summer. She is always super fit, but she really had an extra glow about her! I asked her what she was doing and she told me that her father-in-law is a psychiatrist and recommends this detox drink every morning before breakfast. He believes in healing the mind and body through functional medicine and nutrition. That was so much of what I learned during my year attending The Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a health coach! This drink detoxes the liver and helps flush out toxins. Here is the recipe from Kathy and her father-in-law that I am going to start drinking every morning before breakfast:
10 oz filtered water
1 Tbs local honey
1 Tbs Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
1Tbs fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
Dash of cayenne pepper
You can warm the water first so it melts the honey and drink it either warm or on ice.
