Did I really say Donuts?! Yep, sure did! Now you can have your donuts, minus all of the sugar and hydrogenated oils that they are normally fried in! I was inspired to make this recipe by Alex at The Defined Dish. They are gluten free, grain free, paleo and simply delicious! You can buy a donut pan on Amazon or Bed, Bath and Beyond.

This is also another great way to use up those overripe bananas that are laying around, too. Sprout Living Chocolate Maca Protein powder gives these donuts a healthy dose of protein, something you are definitely not going to find in store bought sugar laden donuts. This is my favorite protein powder because it is full of clean ingredients and tastes great, too! As always, this recipe is easy to make and will please the whole family!

Ingredients:

3 overripe bananas, mashed

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tbsp honey

2 eggs

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup coconut flour

2 scoops Sprout Living Chocolate Maca Protein Powder (or your favorite protein powder)

1/3 cup dark chocolate chips, or 1 dark chocolate bar, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a food processor, mix together mashed bananas, vanilla, maple syrup, honey and eggs. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Add baking powder, baking soda, coconut flour and protein powder and mix again until well incorporated. Stir in dark chocolate chips.

Spray a donut pan with coconut oil, or other non stick spray. Pour mix into the donut pan, dividing evenly, until each is almost full. Bake for 15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly before removing from pan. Enjoy!
